Under the direction of the Automotive Pool Manager II, the Automotive Equipment Operator I operates and services passenger vehicles, trucks, small-wheeled tractors, and similar motor equipment; to do general laboring work; may instruct, lead, or supervise inmates, wards, or resident workers; and, to do other related work; operates, services, washes, and makes minor adjustments and repairs to passenger vehicles, trucks, small-wheeled tractors, and other automotive equipment; transports passengers; loads, unloads, and delivers laundry, food, furniture, freight, farm products, gravel, rubbish, and other materials; performs miscellaneous manual laboring work and messenger service; keeps simple records, and other related work. This position is fast paced and requires a wide variety of assignments within a hospital setting.
