Purpose of Role

We have an excellent opportunity for an Intern to join our McLaren Americas team based at our US Headquarters in Coppell, Texas. The role will be in-office 3x week, with remote work 2x per week. With the full support of a team of automotive professionals, this role will require daily virtual alignment sessions and require the incumbent to work on tasks autonomously. Access to reliable internet service and a quiet work area will be required.

Principal Accountabilities

Aftersales
  • Goodwill spend.
  • Understanding of the types of technical faults that are leading to buyback requests.
  • Creation of a single goodwill request form and single repository to collect and analyse the data.
  • Reporting that will assist in identifying which retailer are using the most goodwill.
  • Mystery shopping retailers and independents
  • Full analysis of pricing for basic services at all retailers and independents
  • Review of how these entities sell service work to their customers.
  • Analyse customer contacts to call centre and create reporting to better understand why customers are calling for assistance.
  • Review of 3rd party accessories and create a price point analysis compared to OEM accessories being offered.


PR
  • In office-support for following PR events including scheduling journalists appointments, organizing agendas, and developing event materials:
  • COTA First media run of Solus GT
  • Washington DC Alliance of Auto Manufacturers event
  • Artura Spider Global Test Drive
  • Triple F Club - Event 4
  • Idaho Tour de Force
  • Pebble Beach


Commercial Operations
  • Sales Planning Support including management of several Excel reports for production allocation, vehicle wholesale, and dealer retails.
  • Identification and coordination of de-fleet cars at Dallas HQ. Support the maintaining of tracking sheets and coordination of pricing adjustments.
  • Accessories Pack Re-Order process. Provide re-order information by item SKU in preparation for 2H vehicle volumes. Output will be a full order with proper authorization controls (purchase requisition and cash committee slide).


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Working towards a Degree in Accounting/Business/Economics/Engineering/ (Preferred but not limited to)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good IT skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
