What You'll Do:

Perform major overhaul of gasoline and/or diesel engines or repairs most difficult and complex automotive problems in industrial equipment, trucks, tractors, automobiles and small two cycle engines (e.g., replacement or repair of pistons, rings, crank shafts, medium and heavy-duty automatic transmissions; single & twin counter shaft manual transmissions).

Repair, rebuild and/or replace minor and major parts of various vehicles and equipment used at the Ohio Expo Center. Test electrical and ignition systems for failure to function or function properly, identify and repair malfunction by operating test equipment to adjust and validate proper repair. Perform routine maintenance (e.g., changes tires, belts, wipers, oil filters, lubricates joints, latches and hinges); provides emergency service to vehicles and equipment (e.g., cleans engines using power washer or steam cleaner, cleans exterior and interior of cars, trucks and equipment); picks up supplies, vehicles and equipment. Use welding equipment to perform various welding functions or operations for the modification or maintenance and repair of equipment. Modify vehicles and equipment for specific functions necessary to meet the needs of rental activities and programs at the Ohio Expo Center.

Maintain accurate service records of all maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment. Maintain and monitor inventory of parts, requisition parts for inventory stock and parts for emergency repair. Cleans garage area, equipment &/or tools; operates equipment, snowplows &/or dumb truck. Assist in the set-up, clean-up and removal of events.

Qualifications
Automotive service excellence certification in at least four areas, two of which must be A1, engine repair & A8 engine performance, or T2 diesel engines & T8 preventive maintenance inspection. The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment, per section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of Ohio revised code. Valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
