What We Need YOU To Do:
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest intern in the Division of Surface Water (DSW) at our Southwest District Office in Dayton.
Your future career starts with us.
As a college intern, you'll receive training and orientation on all aspects of our surface water program and assist technical staff with a variety of program duties. You'll work with an environmental engineer to collect and summarize data needed to review permit to install (PTI) applications , general plans, and engineering plans for industrial and semi-public wastewater treatment facilities.
You'll get to peek under the hood, assisting with collecting and tabulating data required for important agency actions such as N ational Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, findings and orders, enforcement referrals, and complaints for various wastewater sources. You'll review storm water pollution prevention plans and get field time visiting sites to determine compliance with storm water pollution prevention plans and permits.
We'll have you prepare reports and review plans for conformance with agency guidelines and policies and do routine things like updating files and organizing information requested by internal and external clients. But we promise - you won't be bored!

Qualifications
- MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN COLLEGE DEGREE PROGRAM DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE POSITION OR HAVE RECENTLY GRADUATED WITHIN THE QUARTER/SEMESTER IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE START DATE.
- Major area of study: Environmental Science, Water Resources, Chemistry or Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical).
- Knowledge of safety practices, public relations, Agency policies and procedures and permits as applicable.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Skills in computers (word processing and database work).
- SELECTED CANDIDATE MUST POSSESS A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
