The Maintenance Training Instructor works to ensure that every maintenance activity performed embodies REACH's vision and mission statements. Providing the best internal service, education, and maintenance training opportunities possible, this role assists in guiding our aviation mechanic teams towards maintenance excellence and uncompromised safety. The Maintenance Training Instructor will assist in the development of maintenance training curriculums and courses, coordinate maintenance training events, as well as deliver regular and ad-hoc training to Maintenance personnel. Training topics include hydraulics, fuel systems, powertrains and power plants, rotating controls, and overall airframe familiarization with various helicopters utilized across the REACH/GMR footprint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains maintenance training records
  • Maintains compliance according to confidentiality, HIPAA, FAA/PRIA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Will deliver New Hire, Aircraft Model Specific, Maintenance tracking software, Aircraft differences and Base Familiarization training to the maintenance department.
  • Assists maintenance employees with general maintenance training questions and needs.
  • Assists the National Director of Aircraft Maintenance Standards & Eduation with technicians training
  • Coordinates factory, recurrent and continuing education training
  • Develops maintenance Learning Management System training classes
  • Develops and implements ideas for recurrent training with the National Director of Aircraft Maintenance Standards & Education
  • Travel across the U.S. is required with this position.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Valid FAA Airframe & Power plant License
  • 5 years of helicopter maintenance experience with a minimum of 2 years of civilian rotor craft experience.
  • 2 years of experience working under CFR part 135 HAA environment and base duties
  • Experience functioning in a supervisory, project manager or inspector capacity, preferred
  • Strong work ethic and high level of initiative.
  • Possesses strong organization and time management skills.
  • Has 'can-do' attitude and proactively assists other team members as needed.
  • Exhibits professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive or private information with complete confidentiality and tact.
  • Must possess the ability to create accurate presentations and proofread effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience with track and balance on main and tail rotor assemblies
  • Prior training experience in the rotor wing industry and/or Methods of Instruction training (MOI)
  • Intermediate-level computer skills with an inventory system, preferably Ramco
  • Well-organized, analytical and self-directed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to relate to and interact with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Visio

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.

Environmental Conditions:
  • Working remotely via teleconference
  • Office and classroom environment occasionally
  • Occasionally working in a hanger environment and may be subject to extreme heat conditions.
