Requirements / Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: You must meet both of the following requirements: 1. Must be concurrently enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at an accredited college, which may include community college. 2. Submit an official transcript from their college/university in a sealed envelope with a minimum of 48 Units or submit an AA Degree or higher degree. If you do not have one of the above, you must take the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with adults and students; understand and follow oral and written directions; operate audiovisual equipment; communicate effectively with students, projecting a mature, constructive, stable, and healthy attitude in a learning environment; have good judgment and the ability to exercise a good moral and educational influence on students; ability to operate a computer terminal on a limited basis for purposes of inquiry and routine data entry. Primary Function: Assists teachers in the instructional program by serving as subject matter assistants. Directly Responsible to School administrator and/or classroom teacher.
