Summary: The Assistant Vice President assists the Vice President with responsibility for multiple highly complex clients. Manages new and existing clients, maintains strong relationships with key client stakeholders and carriers and is responsible for policy compliance and human resources functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and initiates plans to increase sales, lower costs, and continuously improve operations. Confers with Vice President on setting targets and reports actual results.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key client stake holders and carrier representatives.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for company products and services.
  • Leads by example in the use of technology such as Salesforce.com to track and report results.
  • Provides mentoring and coaching to team members.
  • Sets policies and monitors all offices in the region to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to decisions on new hire selections and internal promotions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and typically exercises independent judgment on most matters.
  • May supervise multiple individual contributors and/or managers. Ensures the organization's policies and procedures are adhered to. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; coaching and mentoring staff and addressing potential problems.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the health care, wellbeing and engagement industry and trends.
  • Strong time management, communications, decision making, human relations, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership, negotiate and follow through a problem to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with clients, senior management, and staff.
  • Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
  • Ability to assist and maintain good working relationships at all levels across organizations.
  • Supervisory responsibility may include managing a team.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • BA/BS preferred with more than 10 years industry and product line experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  • Life, Accident and Health Insurance License required
