Austin, Texas

Employer: Amazon
Industry: Software Development
Salary: Competitive
Job type: Full-Time

AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates all of AWS's global infrastructure. In other words, we are the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure our customers have continuous access to the innovation they rely on. We tackle the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we're looking for talented people to join us.

You'll work on a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. You'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them through to completion.

What we do:

The Infrastructure Foundational Services - Austin (IFS-A) team builds services and tools that gather, track, and authorize device custody changes across Amazon. As an infrastructure services provider, we own the services and tools that Amazon uses to transform hardware into capacity that teams across Amazon run their business on. What we do matters; every customer who uses Amazon's products relies on the computing infrastructure we provide, and we enable customers to get the capacity they need and for the business teams to responsibly manage growth and cost. Our products are used by internal software teams, and we focus on minimizing the operational burden that other engineers experience when managing their infrastructure.

What you will do:

You will lead a team of talented engineers as they build new services and migrate existing services to more modern and secure solutions. Your goal is to improve our customers' experience by providing more capable APIs and UIs. Your top priority is to develop a great organization, raising the bar on our software development practices and the customer experience using our tools. You will coordinate with other managers to deliver tools that work seamlessly across the various disciplines in AWS.

Why we need you

Amazon and Amazon Web Services are growing at an incredible rate, inventing new technology to improve the life of our customers. At this scale we are constantly stretching the elasticity of the the cloud. Our mission to help make it easy for internal software teams to grow while working with other infrastructure and AWS teams to meet these needs. You will lead a team of talented engineers to deliver this end to end workflow and collaborate with your customers - including other developers, business partners, and finance teams. You will work with other engineers who have a passion for learning new technology and making your customer's lives better.

We want your passion for making an end-to-end product. While we are doing a lot of automation here, you will be asked to solve problems at every layer of the stack. You will share your experiences with an organization that is eager to learn.

Why you'll love it: You'll see all aspects of the Amazon business, from our Retail websites to our digital products to the inner workings of Amazon Web Services. You'll work with massive data sets. You'll improve the agility of our technical teams. You'll be part of a growing, fast paced, and fun team.
