Description:
ALTA is seeking a skilled and experienced Azure Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Windows, Azure cloud services, specifically with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and will be proficient in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. This role will focus on designing, deploying, and managing scalable and secure cloud environments to meet the needs of our enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure, with a focus on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the deployment and management of cloud resources.
  • Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitLab.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and secure cloud solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost-effectiveness, performance, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure infrastructure and AVD environments.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in cloud operations.
  • Provide documentation, training, and support to internal teams and clients as needed.
  • Stay current with the latest Azure features, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Support Windows related engineering tasks in AWS.


Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Azure Engineer with a strong focus on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate cloud resource management.
  • Experience with GitLab for CI/CD pipeline creation and management.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, and governance best practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305), or Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ-400) or other Microsoft equivalent certifications
  • Experience with other IaC tools such as Ansible or ARM templates.
  • Familiarity with other DevOps tools and practices such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Gitlab.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience with enterprise-level deployments and managing cloud environments.
