As a Barclays Backend Developer, you will be accountable for the design, development, and implementation of Technology Platforms to a very high level of quality and standards. This is an opportunity be a key contributor for Technical Design and Development for new and existing systems within the portfolio. Ensuring successful continuous integration, delivery and quality control through automation and driving innovation in test automation strategy and methodology will be part of your role

What will you be doing?
• Performing the Software Designing, Programming and Unit Testing and signing, developing, and coding scripts for automation testing
• Designing, coding, and testing the most complex software components for new or enhanced IT systems to a high level of quality, producing appropriate documentation
• Designing, developing and productionizing applications; writing continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines; gathering business requirements
• Building APIs and application products in order to enable to integrate natively with endpoints as a form of Banking as a Service
• Defining minimum controls or checks that must be completed prior to the on-boarding of Partners/Third Party Developers
• Driving software architecture, high-and-low level designs towards asynchronous, functional, reactive systems using extensive experience in building highly scalable
• Employing agile techniques, i.e. task estimation, test automation, deployment automation, continuous integration and knowledge of software best practices
• Ensuring successful continuous integration, delivery and quality control through automation; driving innovation in test automation strategy and methodology

What we're looking for:
• Experience in designing & developing scalable enterprise applications using Java API's and CI CD
• Over two years of experience in software development
• Ability to develop Web based applications using Java 11 or above, Java script, Hibernate, Angular, html, jQuery, Rest and SOAP
• Knowledge of Spring technologies including spring boot, and Open shift Cloud

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Banking /Credit card experience is a plus
