About the Team
Our team plays a crucial role in ensuring the company's success. We seek people who are willing to learn and put in the effort to solve problems. Responsibilities
- Work closely with mobile and product team to develop and build fundamental media capabilities and components for the TikTok product, including playback controls, subtitles, translations, and dubbing.
- Build and maintain user-facing serving systems that handle hundreds of thousands of QPS, as well as data pipelines that process hundreds of millions of videos a day.
- Work to improve stability and performance and reduce costs.
- Deploy software programs and evaluate user feedback.
- Comply with project plans and industry standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications
Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related STEM field, and 1 year of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related STEM field, and 2 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:
- Designing and implementing scalable, fault tolerant, distributed, and low latency backend workflow orchestration architecture;
- Designing and implementing large-scale, distributed online software services using programming language Java, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, or Python;
- Designing and implementing scalable RESTful APIs;
- Working with cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical requirements, and using agile methodology for the entire software development lifecycle;
- Writing testable, maintainable, and low latency software using high level programming languages, including Golang, Java, Python, or C++; and
- Using unit tests, integration tests, and load tests to ensure quality of delivered software products and continuous software development pipeline.

Type: Full time, 40 hours/week
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $145000 - $250000 per year
