Bariatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner | Montclair, NJ- 20 mi from NYC | No Call/No Weekends

Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, located in Montclair, NJ, is searching for a Bariatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join its team in the inpatient-only setting.

The Bariatric Surgery NP will coordinate and monitor pre- and post-operative care for bariatric surgery patients; provide counseling on lifestyle changes, including diet, exercise, and behavioral modifications; support patients in setting and achieving realistic weight loss goals.

Requirements:

• Required Masters' Degree in Nursing
• At least 2-3 years of experience in bariatric medicine, endocrinology, primary care, and/or related fields
• Certification in obesity medicine or willingness to obtain certification
• 2 - 3 years' experience with direct patient care in a hospital, physician practice, or related setting
• Valid APN certification and License
• NJ Medical License, CDS and DEA required


Preferred Experience:

• Bariatrics and/or Med Surg experience

About Your Work:

• Full-time, employed position
• Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
• No Weekends/No Call
• Work in collaboration with the physicians to provide a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for patient admission, assessment, physical examination, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, bariatric inpatient rounding, prescription refills, and outcome evaluation
• The NP has the responsibility and accountability for the assessment and management of patients, including ordering diagnostic tests, consultations, therapeutic interventions and the day to day implementation and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care
