Responsibilities

The Bed Control Clerk is responsible for patient room/bed assignments. Assignments are made to the most appropriate area as indicated by patient diagnosis and need. Works closely with nursing staff, ER staff, physicians' office staff and physicians to ensure the correct and timely admission, discharge and transfer of patients into and out of UT Health East Texas facilities.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Experience:

• Medical terminology
• Post high school vocational/specialized training
