Job Summary:

The Synergy adolescent component of Addiction Research and Treatment Services, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, seeks to fill a Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor position in an adolescent substance use treatment program. Synergy specializes in treating adolescents ages 12-18 who struggle with co-occurring substance use issues and mental health issues. Synergy's clinical team specializes in delivering evidenced-based therapy models in an outpatient setting and, in a community-based setting. Synergy's multidisciplinary team consists of social workers, counselors, clinical supervisors, and psychiatrists; this is an excellent opportunity to join our team.

The Supervisor will carry a partial clinical caseload and actively supervise 1-2 master's level behavioral health clinicians trained in delivering evidenced-based models and ensure their implementation of the treatment. In addition, they will also supervise 1-2 Care Navigators who are responsible for care coordination for our clients. They will provide weekly supervision as well as review and provide feedback on clinical documentation.

As mentioned above, the supervisor will also carry a partial clinical caseload in addition to completing comprehensive mental health and SUD evaluations.

The Supervisor works closely and collaboratively with the Director in developing procedures, protocols, and policies. They are responsible for the professional development of their team and performing yearly performance evaluations for their team.

This position will be a combination of telehealth and in-office work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to a team of 1-2 master's level therapists and 1-2 Care Navigators: beginning with 1 and expanding to 2.
  • Carry a partial clinical caseload and provide mental health & substance use treatment to adolescents and their families. In addition, provide on-call support to their team, which includes a weekend rotation of back-up support every four (4) weeks.
  • Track and ensure all clinical documentation is submitted in a timely manner by the team and ensure clinical charts are up to date. Complete chart audits, as needed.
  • Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner, resolve alerts regularly and review team's clinical documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide live supervision to clinicians to help strengthen their therapy skills.
  • Monitor adherence to treatment models to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes with youth presenting serious clinical problems and their families.
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations for clients.
  • Participate in hiring and interviewing potential new hires.
  • Train and onboard new Care Navigators and Therapists.
  • Complete additional duties that might include facilitation of psychiatric referrals, facilitation of clinical intakes, completion of GAIN assessments, development of procedures and protocols, etc.
  • Assume on-site supervisory duties of the outpatient clinic at the Director of Synergy Outpatient Services' request when she is away (vacation, sick, off-site) from the facility. In addition to covering supervisory duties when other clinical supervisors are out on leave.


Work Location:

Hybrid - This position will be hybrid with the in-office located in Denver, Colorado at the Ft. Logan Campus.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience providing therapeutic or related services which includes some experience working with adolescents and families.
  • Licensure with DORA as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.


Preferred Qualifications

  • CAS (Certified Addiction Specialist) or LAC.
  • Experience in clinical supervision.
  • Training and experience in delivering EBT (evidenced-based treatment).
  • Training and experience in the Multisystemic Therapy Model.
  • Experience treating substance use problems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Must agree to fingerprinting and criminal background check. Required background checks include a review with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $79,844 - $101,562.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
