Work schedule is Friday 4:00pm-Sunday 8:00 am. Schedule subject to change for holidays. During a holiday, the scheduled shift would start at 8:00 am on Friday.

This position is eligible for 23% crisis pay on top of base salary.

Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis.As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.

In this Behavioral Health Therapist position, you will conduct crisis stabilization or therapeutic intervention, provide supportive therapy to mitigate crisis situations, develop safety plans for individuals at risk, and assist individuals in getting connected with services, either through an HSC Clinic or by connecting with a community provider. Through risk assessments you will assist with admissions to higher level of care facilities with may include but are not limited to North Dakota State Hospital, Crisis Stabilization Units, or other community providers. This position will provide support to residential facilities on-site weeknights until 11 pm and weekends/holidays for approximately 6 hours. This support could include developing and running treatment groups and check-ins with clients.

Additionally, you will need to be comfortable providing services in homes and communities, as most services are provided in those locations. Travel is a norm with this position as this position will need to cover a 45-mile radius for in person assessments.

To be considered for this position, you are required to have a master's degrees in Social Work, Counseling, or areas approved by the North Dakota Board of Counseling Examiners and ND licensure as a LCSW or LPCC, OR a Doctorate in Psychology and ND licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners, or a LAC (Licensed Addiction Counselor).

If unable to find fully licensed candidates, will consider filling this position as a Human Relations Counselor, which requires a master's degree in Social Work and licensure as a LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) by the ND Board of Social Work Examiners; OR a master's degree in Counseling and licensure as a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) by the ND Board of Counselor Examiners. Will also consider those with a master's degree in Counseling and licensure as a LAPC, if the applicant is far enough along with the process to obtain their LPCC within two years from the date of hire. Information outlining where you are in the licensure process and the number of training hours already obtained must be submitted with the application form.

This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
