Job Summary:
Provides screening, triage, risk assessment and referral for consumers seeking mental health services. Provides consultation, education and information to families, providers, and community stakeholders regarding individual situations and treatment or community resources. Program management responsibilities include serving as the Behavioral Health Program Team leader and coordinator of collaborative care. Quality Improvement responsibilities include assisting with compliance with regulatory requirements, policy development, auditing files, addressing consumer complaints, training staff on new policies and procedures.

Education:
Required:
Education level required at the time of initial clinical licensure. If licensed after July 1 2022 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of graduate training as defined by the NC Board, included a Master's Degree in Counseling or related field from an institution of higher education that is accredited by the council for Accreditation of Counseling and Relate Educational Programs (AACREP); and has passed an examination in accordance with rules adopted by the Board N.C. Gen Stat 90-336(b2)

Experience in case management, knowledge of managed care practices, community resources, collaborative care practices, regulatory and insurance reimbursement issues.
Experience in Behavioral Health or related field.

Required:

Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) or Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA)

BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.

Crisis intervention and de-escalation training within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter as required by organization.

Department Position Summary:

Job Duties:

1. Coordinates psychiatric consults on an ongoing basis and provides monthly stats to NCSTeP.
2. Performs assessment/evaluation and documentation of clinical outcomes: This position provides direct client assessment which may include triage, screening, track patient treatment response adjusting the plan of care as needed, assessments including risk and diagnostic assessment.
3. Provides crisis intervention as needed
4. Petitions for involuntary commitment when clinically indicated
5. Provides brief therapeutic intervention, treatment planning, consultation, client and family education, diagnosis, sharing information with other agencies/providers and/or linkage to resources and services
6. Provides care coordination with MCOs, Public Health Department, providers, and community stakeholders regarding crisis stabilization and intervention as well as appropriate resources for referral
7. Completes diagnostic assessments, crisis plans and develops treatment plans, relapse prevention plans
8. Documents, accurately and thoroughly, consumers' presenting problems, symptoms, treatment needs, recommendations and services accepted by the consumer
9. Shares and communicates documentation and treatment plan with the referring provider on an ongoing basis to assure continuity of care
10. Assists in development and management of quality and regulatory compliance functions
11. Assists in the develops of program policies which meet regulatory requirements
12. Works with Business Development and Marketing to develop an outreach plan to provide education to partners and community members regarding the program.
13. Performs other duties as assigned that the employee is capable of performing
