PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for benefits-related processing of deductions, arrears, refunds, and payroll reconciliations, supporting the areas of Health & Welfare benefits and 401(k). Assure complete and accurate documentation is in place for benefits-related processing as well as develop streamlined approaches for the benefits-related activities, understanding the pay elements, various benefit plan requirements, deductions, imputed income, etc, understanding the impact of transfers between different operating companies and different positions. Coordinate with the payroll and Accenture interface team to assure accurate data with appropriate manual updates as needed. Work directly with third party administrators to resolve unreconciled items as well as participant escalations related to benefit plans and programs. Analyze situations to identify the key issue and optimal solution for the participant as well as Exelon. Work with third party administrators to implement system enhancements and plan design changes. Learn the Exelon benefit plans and programs in order to administer each plan and program accurate and in compliance with all regulations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Benefits-related processing of deductions, arrears, refunds, and payroll reconciliations, supporting the areas of Health & Welfare benefits and 401(k), including: - Understanding the Oracle Fusion data/payroll environment that supports accurate benefits Operations - Management of arrears for weekly and all other payroll cycles (35%)
  • Manage and direct Third-party Administrators to assure high-quality on-time deliverables by the external vendors. (20%)
  • Research participant issues and concerns, managing through to resolution, requiring understanding and knowledge of Health & Welfare/401(k) benefits and Exelon-specific benefit plans. (20%)
  • Provide governance to team members performing benefits operations activities (such as reviewing hours worked to determine benefits eligibility, tuition assistance, etc. to assure high-quality on-time deliverables by the external vendors. (10%)
  • Support/manage special Benefits Operations initiatives that support Exelon's business objectives. (15%)
JOB SCOPE
  • Develop/update complete and clear documentation
  • Analysis of data and issues in order to perform basic reconciliations or identify issues
  • Work in a team environment
  • Interface with and provide management of 2 to 6 external vendors with respect to assuring accurate, on-time deliverables including data interfaces
  • Make independent decisions, within the scope of the job, collecting the appropriate information and using good judgement
  • Work with Third-party Administrators and participants as needed to resolve escalated cases and implement changes


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-year degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 2 years Health & Welfare or 410(k) employee benefits experience.
  • Project management skills
  • Experience with/comparable skills for vendor management
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong communication skills
  • Ability to navigate and deliver results oriented work, meeting established deadlines in fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to provide information to ensure it is delivered, received, understood and results in action.
  • Ability to make decisions based on analysis of relevant information including problems, root cause analysis, corrective actions
  • Ability to work with others to achieve common goals that result in more than what could be done individually
  • Experience applying sound management principles to maintain workflows, create change and shift paradigms
  • Ability to manage and schedule own work to complete on time with high quality
  • Intermediate excel skills with strong attention to details and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Health & Welfare/401(k) benefits coursework completed
  • Experienced Third-party Administrator work in employee benefit
