Summary

BHS Therapists provide clinical services to patients in an inpatient or outpatient setting. A Therapist is defined as an individual trained in psychotherapy who helps individuals deal with a variety of mental health and daily living problems to improve overall functioning. A Therapist has a master's degree and has studied sociology, growth and development, mental health theory and practice, human behavior/social environment, psychology, and research methods.

Responsibilities

o Performs patient evaluations and assessments through interviews with the patient, family members, friends, and a review of the medical records including social, developmental, and medical history o Identifies presenting problem and determines strengths, resources, and eligibility for applicable programs o Participates in treatment planning, attends treatment team meetings and reports on patients progress and makes recommendations for changes in the treatment plan o Performs crisis interventions for patients who lack the ability to cope with their current stressors o Conduct individual, family, and group therapy with patients, applying a variety of therapeutic techniques o Evaluate necessary daily living skills, education and vocational needs, and plan interventions to achieve treatment goals o Develop and implement discharge and after care plans suitable to the patients condition and available resources o Performs psychosocial evaluations, consults with physicians and staff regarding the patient's plan of care o Documents findings, patient progress, and changes in the plan of care in the electronic medical record o Review and evaluate program services to include evidence based practices and conform to agency policies o Provides clinical supervision over lower level professional staff and interns as assigned o Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required: o Masters degree in Behavioral Health related field o Nevada state Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist or Clinical Professional Counselor required o Must complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training within 6 months of hire o Current unrestricted driver's license Preferred: o 3 years of clinical experience working with psychiatric or chemical dependency patients Inpatient or outpatient experience o ASAM and LOCUS (American Society of Addiction Medicine and Level of Care Utilization System)
