Come join a team of Clinical Laboratory professionals! We have an immediate opening for a per diem position in our Blood Bank Department. Performs a variety of diversified and complex laboratory tests. Processes various blood samples in accordance with the Blood Bank's policies and procedures manual. Issues blood components following established guidelines. Performs qualitative and quantitative analysis of blood specimens. Performs testing on proficiency samples, quality control, standards, and calibrators. Able to perform manual methods, including kits and able to run all lab instrumentation. Troubleshoots problems and performs maintenance on instruments and takes corrective actions when necessary. Reports tests results to patient unit and clinicians. Starting at $54 per hour. Hourly rate may vary depending on work experience. QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience: A minimum of 1 years' experience in Blood Bank as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required.
2. Training/Certification: Bachelor of Science required. Clinical Laboratory Technologist program. ASCP (preferred)
3. Licensure: New York State Registered License
4. Other: Experience with Blood Bank software, knowledge of NYS regulatory,. Proven leadership and problem-solving skills. Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, establish work priorities and to handle several tasks simultaneously for maximum department efficiency. Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors, co-workers and clients. Communication skills necessary to handle telephone inquiries from clients. Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems. Must be able to work the commitment and have reliable transportation.
