To assist in smooth and efficient donor manufacturing process, transcribing reviewed results, to label and prepare blood components and to ensure quality products throughout the manufacturing process, assist with managing blood product inventory, and assisting blood bank workflow functions as directed.
  • Accurately transcribes reviewed donor results.
  • Assist with managing blood product inventory.
  • Prepares and labels blood bags and specimens.
  • Prepares components, completes documentation and performs QC/QA activities.
  • Assisting blood bank workflow functions such as receipt of specimens, assisting with reports, answering phones, and other clerical duties as directed
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Understands and utilizes CGMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Performs QC and QA procedures as assigned
  • Completes all paperwork in a timely and accurate way including component preparation documentation, QC documentation and computer entries
  • Assists with managing blood product inventory to include but not limited to counting inventory, rotating inventory, ordering from suppliers, receiving inventory, etc.
  • Assisting blood bank workflow functions such as receipt of specimens, assisting with reports, answering phones, and other clerical duties as directed
  • Processes whole blood, apheresis collections and prepares and labels blood components
  • Maintain proficiency in all required aspects of laboratory instrumentation in assigned areas including quality control, troubleshooting, calibration, preventative maintenance, etc


Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy experience required; Medical Terminology/knowledge preferred; Blood Bank experience preferred
