Boat Shop Floor Supervisor

Summary:
This position is a working supervisor role. It is expected that the employee will work on projects in conjunction with supervisory duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with Program Manager and Project Managers to understand project needs when a project first starts
• Provide oversight of personnel working on projects
• Have a strong working knowledge of all active projects at all times
• Assign daily work assignments working in conjunction with Program Manager and Project Managers to understand what each project needs
• Modify work assignments in order to complete a project within the allotted manhours or identify estimated manhour concerns
• Provide hands-on training, when necessary
• Work on tools, between supervising employees, in order to get a project completed on time or to correct a problem
• Sign out material and turn over to Production when needed for a project
• When applicable, kit material in order to save man-hours and make a project run more smoothly
• Work with Program Manager and Project Managers to identify any missing material needed for projects
• Submit requisitions for overhead material needed for the shop or to order material for a project if the Project Manager is not onsite
• Work with the Program Manager on any personnel issues
• Work with the Program Manager and Project Managers to address any project issues
• Be responsible for all timekeeping of direct reports
• Work with Program Manager on yearly employee evaluations
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete other tasks assigned by Program Manager

Qualifications:
• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suite and navigating in the computer server environment
• Must be able to work and communicate effectively with other team members and company employees

Minimum Requirements:
• Five plus years of Marine Ship Repair experience

• While performing these job duties, the employee is routinely required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; use fingers and hands to type or write; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; taste or smell; lift 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
• This position is performed in a boat yard environment, with some local travel between facilities.
