Job Summary

Under the direction of the chief engineer this person is responsible for shift coverage in plant operations. Some minor maintenance responsibilities are required.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

• High school, vocational or trade school graduate

Minimum Work Experience

• Five to Seven years experience working with boilers and steam generating equipment.

Minimum Licenses and Certifications

• Second Class Fireman's license required

Physical Requirements

Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with hands), and identifies and distinguishes colors. • Removes or arranges for removal of safety hazards from environment immediately to prevent potential safety hazards from occurring.
• Maintains Boiler Plant Equipment so that boiler works properly and all OSHA requirements are met.
• Performs routine painting on the piping so it is color coded to meet OSHA requirements.
• Reviews all logs and makes recommendations, reviews equipment when down for annual maintenance and vender performs quarterly tests.
• Completes 100% of corrective work orders daily.
• Completes 100% of preventive work orders monthly.
• Completes documentation so that the supervisor receives 100% of daily reports
• Responds appropriately to utility failures.
