Job Summary:

The Box Office Manager & Coordinator of Audience Engagement oversees various administrative duties related to ticket sales, front of house support, special events, accounting and reporting, and audience analysis. This position maintains Box Office staffing, oversees cash handling and safety compliance policies, provides excellent customer service, and engages positively with our cultural arts community.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Manages all Box Office operations (Will Call, Guest List, Ticket Sales, Ticket Scanning, Comp Tickets, etc.)
2. Monitors and maintains the knowledge and functionality of all ticketing computers, software (Audience View), and hardware.
3. Manages recruitment and training of Box Office staff, including student workers, and ensures appropriate numbers of staff at performances and events.
4. Ensures that venue staff follows TCU cash handling policies and procedures.
5. Monitors ticket sales for all upcoming events and communicate information to the Director, Department Chair, faculty member, or performance representative.
6. Balances and reconciles all ticket sales for each ticketed event.
7. Oversees the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual ticket orders and generate reports as required.
8. Participates in on-site production meetings as needed.
9. Works with event promoters and/or appropriate faculty and staff to establish ticket pricing and seating configuration.
10. Represents the College of Fine Arts positively to the public via email, over the phone, and in person and demonstrates superior customer service in all communication.
11. Ensures accurate and timely flow of event and general venue information to the TCU community and the general public.
12. Maintains and updates all customer and patron database files.
13. Assists with marketing performing arts performances.
14. Assists with the College of Fine Arts events and performances website.
15. Assists with venue management and ensures ADA and OSHA compliance and flexible service in all venues.
16. Coordinates with TCU Police when needed for public safety or high-risk events.
17. Supports student learning by mentoring and training students about front-of-house operations in performing arts venues.
18. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3 years of experience in a box office or ticketing management.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in audience engagement and basic marketing skills.
• Professional experience in music, theatre, or dance, performing arts production, arts management, or a related field.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of computerized ticket systems and reporting.
• Knowledge of basic accounting and auditing controls.
• Skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to learn all required business systems.
• Skill in customer service and communication skills.
• Skill in supervision.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues in a prompt and efficient manner.
• Ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing.
• Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to improve operations.
• Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:

• Work is indoors and outdoors and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours, including some nights and weekends.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position.

• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
