Starting Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000 - depending on experienceLocation: Lynnwood, WAClassification: Exempt Must be eligible to work in the U.S. - Sponsorship not available General Position Summary : Design and configure controls systems. Provide basic level software from pre-engineered software designs and more complex software designs. Prepare control drawings, valve and damper schedules and submittal packages. Prepare system start-up packages. Essential Job Functions :1. CAD Design and configure control systems as defined by project specifications2. Select and install control products, components, applications, and systems3. Create reusable, field-tested standards/ review and revise systems for submission to the standards library/ coordinate with estimators and management to maintain the standard library's integrity4. Assist/coordinate RFI's with the Project Manager5. Prepare/ review submittals6. Collaborate with other Engineers and Controls Specialist to define software needs and develop testing and commissioning plans7. Provide technical coordination on projects8. Lead engineering teams on large, complex building control projects9. Provide start-up and commissioning support10. Provide engineering support including specification review and creation of points list, contract controls diagrams, and sequence of operations11. Prepare shop and installation drawings12. Prepare bill of materials13. Collaborate with the COM, Project Manager, Engineers, and support staff14. Coordinate with Project Manager on special requirements addressed during the submittal process including TCP sizes, layouts/locations, special mounting requirements, home runs, and other installation needs.15. Provide technical assessment/ review of project plans/ scope16. Interpret project technical requirements and system applicability, software and user interface17. Adhere to technical standards, procedures, and policies of the company and provide recommendations for revisions as standards evolve and system needs change18. Provide input on standardization of product selections, new applications, drawing and documentation standards to assure quality, productivity and performance19. Respond to technical information requests20. Develop project documentation, manuals, test and commissioning plans, and customer training materials21. Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee's essential job functions. Secondary Job Functions : 1. Provide schedule and completion time input to PM for forecasting2. Maintain a tracking information database to manage workload Skills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job : 1. Strong working knowledge of the systems commonly monitored and controlled by a building DDC/EMS. Systems may include Tridium/Niagara Ax/N4, Distech, Lonworks Controllers, BACNet Controllers. 2. Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience. Supervisory Responsibility : May serve as engineering lead on certain projects Education/ Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job : 1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering with minimum of 5 years of experience or an associate in related field with ten years of relevant work experience. 2. Current, up-to-date knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems technology, control DDC instrumentation technology, and industry standards Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required : 1. Paid Time Off:

Eligible employees begin accruing PTO as of their date of hire and accrual rates are based on years of service. Base annual accrual starts at 120 hours/15 days for full time status. PTO is a combination of sick and vacation accruals. UMC follows the required WA State Sick Leave guidelines and employees are provided (1) for every 40 hours worked as part of the PTO package. UMC also offers (7) paid holidays, plus (1) Floating Holiday to be used within the calendar year.
