An ESS building-based substitute is assigned to a single school building for the duration of their assignment. This person reports to the same school each day to cover daily or long-term classroom assignments as scheduled by the building administrator. This will include covering for absent teachers, school aides, and any other position that the school may need. Becoming a building-based substitute is the perfect position for an educator who enjoys forming long-term relationships with students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Report to office upon arrival at school; check mailbox of absent school employee for materials requiring immediate attention; request clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary

Special Requirements

• Candidate must attend an orientation/training session and complete required district and state credentialing requirements (Background check, TB Test)
• Regular instruction to special needs children may be necessary
• 33 College Credits or more are preferred
