NOTICE OF VACANCY

Bus Drivers - Full Time or Part Time Full Size Bus STURBRIDGE / TANTASQUA REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS ANTICIPATED START DATE: Immediately Salary Range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator/Manager, Business Manager, Superintendent

JOB GOAL: To safely transport children to and from school and on any activities during and after school hours.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operates the school bus in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures
• Picks up and delivers students in accordance with the routes and schedules developed by the Supervisor of Transportation
• Effectively manages student behavior
• Communicates clearly and effectively with students, other drivers, supervisors, and administrators.
• Maintains self-control under pressure
• Attends any in-service training classes as required by the District
• Maintains a satisfactory driving and criminal background record
• Reads and interprets schedules and forms and uses a map for directions, when necessary
• Cleans assigned bus on at least a weekly basis
• Conducts a thorough pre-trip inspection daily and promptly reports maintenance and repair needs
• Arrives at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to scheduled departure
• Participates in at least two (2) bus evacuations per year
• All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Valid CDL B with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements and a School Bus Driver Certificate preferred or will provide paid training to get licensed.
• Must submit to pre-employment and random substance abuse and alcohol testing
• Must be able to meet or exceed the annual state required physical examination
• Must know the rules, regulations, procedures and laws as they relate to the operation of a school bus
• Must have the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
