AWS Global Services Capacity Planning team is looking for a strong, talented Business Analyst to analyze contact and volume forecasting, discovering insights and identifying opportunities through the use of data anlysis to drive business and operational improvements. You are passionate about building solutions that will help drive a more efficient operations network and optimize cost. In this role, you will partner with data scientists, capacity planners, business intelligence, operations, training, workforce management and finance teams, driving analytical solutions across the network influencing the long-term strategy of the business.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Analyst with proven abilities to build and manage data analysis projects, analytical solutions, identify data requirements, build methodology and tools that are analytically grounded. You are customer obsessed, innovative, independent, results-oriented and enjoys working in a fast-paced growing organization. An interest in operations, process improvement is helpful. The ability to embrace this ambiguity and work with a highly distributed team of experts is critical. You will likely to work in Python or R, analyzing the data. Your problem solving ability, knowledge of data analysis and ability to drive results through ambiguity are more important to us.

Key job responsibilities

You will be responsible for performing in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and key drivers that impact the capacity planning process. This will include conducting ad-hoc analyses and deep dives to provide data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making. You will also work closely with the Business Intelligence team to design, develop, and maintain effective reporting and visualization solutions, ensuring that these tools are tailored to the specific needs of Capacity Planners and Data Scientists

Continuous process improvement and automation will be a key focus area for you. You will identify opportunities to streamline and optimize the capacity planning process through the use of technology and automation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, data quality, and decision-making.

You will serve as a trusted partner and subject matter expert for Capacity Planners, Data Scientists, and other key stakeholders within the Global Services organization. You will facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across teams to ensure a unified, data-driven approach to capacity planning, and proactively identify and address any roadblocks or challenges that may impact the successful delivery of capacity planning initiatives.

A day in the life

As a Business Analyst within the Global Services Capacity Planning team, your primary responsibilities will include comprehensive business requirements gathering and analysis. This will involve collaborating closely with Capacity Planners, Data Scientists, and Business Intelligence teams to deeply understand their data, reporting, and analysis needs.

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- 5+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience

- Experience with SQL

- 3+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

- 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience; making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in R or Python

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $143,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
