Pay Range

$107,550 - $160,188 Annually

$107,550 - $133,524 Annually for the E01.3 level

$129,030 - $160,188 Annually for the E01.4 level

Job Description

We have an opening for a Business Analyst to support our work on Global Material Security (GMS). As an integral member of an interdisciplinary team, you will support Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) Principal Investigators, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and other sponsors by planning, tracking, analyzing, and reporting on activities pertaining to GMS projects. This position will be in the Global Materials Security Program within the Global Security Principal Directorate's Nuclear Threat Reduction (N) Program.

In this role, you will
  • Analyze GMS program/portfolio/project information and workflow; develop alternative approaches and facilitate implementations of new solutions.
  • Leads research and documentation efforts for GMS program/portfolio/project data to include financial (funding, costs, and resource loads) and technical (tasks, schedules, and delivery) information.
  • Contribute and support the Program Leader in development of specialized reports.
  • Monitor team tasks to include internal and external deliverables and ensure responsible parties are completing activities on time to support closure.
  • Provide specialist-level functional knowledge in Excel.
  • Develop practices and procedures for process improvements and management efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategies for addressing sponsor process gaps, including processes that cross functions; monitor the progress and impact of changes by working as a liaison between sponsor and technical staff.
  • Performs complex analysis tasks independently, working towards goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities at the E01.4 level
  • Communicates, prepares, and presents the vision effectively to the technical team, management, and sponsors throughout the lifecycle of projects.
  • Develops and delivers formal proposals to internal PI's, team members and technical managers to implement and improve the overall process goals.

Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE (L/Q)-level security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, information management or technology, information management, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with resource management tools and applying related practices, standards, and processes.
  • Expert in report information and graphing generation and the ability to continually improve reporting capabilities to meet the needs and requirements of the client.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team members and utilize negotiation skills to influence outcomes.
  • Experience analyzing data in Excel.

Qualifications at E01.4 level
  • Experience in designing and implementing improvements for functional business discipline in the areas of process improvement, workflow, and streamlining.
  • Experience in analysis and design of complex business processes; designing and implementing strategies for complex improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; prepare and present business process strategies and plans to all levels of management.

Qualifications We Desire
  • Familiarity with Sponsor business applications and processes.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
