Job Title: Business Analyst

Summary:

The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for working with our customer team (business and IT) to develop, implement, and optimize a Community Information System (CIS). The BA will be responsible for understanding stakeholder needs, gathering requirements, conducting analysis, and designing solutions to enhance the functionality, usability, and effectiveness of the CIS. The Business Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that modernization initiatives align with business objectives and deliver tangible value to the stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals, user needs, and requirements for the Community Information System (CIS) modernization project.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing CIS, including its functionalities, data structures, workflows, and user interfaces.
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimization within the CIS, based on stakeholder feedback, industry best practices, and emerging trends.
  • Define and document detailed requirements and specifications for modernizing the CIS, including functional requirements, non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and design solutions that meet stakeholder needs.
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and interviews with stakeholders to gather insights, validate requirements, and obtain buy-in for proposed solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, such as business process models, use cases, user stories, and system requirements, to support the modernization project.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups to visualize proposed changes and gather user feedback.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting third-party tools, technologies, and platforms that can be integrated with the CIS to enhance its functionality and capabilities.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather feedback from stakeholders to validate that modernized features meet user expectations and business requirements.
  • Support change management activities, including training, communication, and stakeholder engagement, to ensure the smooth adoption of the modernized CIS.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and proactively address any challenges to ensure successful delivery of the modernization project within scope, timeline, and budget.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP) preferred.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) working as a Business Analyst or similar role, with a focus on analyzing and modernizing enterprise systems or applications.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis techniques, methodologies, and tools, such as requirements elicitation, process modeling, use case development, and user story mapping.
  • Experience in the public sector or non-profit organizations is preferred, with knowledge of community information systems, social services, or public health initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, such as Scrum, and experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and information, identify patterns and trends, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team, and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
