The Business Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day support, reporting, and business process solutions for Enterprise Systems. The Analyst is responsible for high-quality solution services provided to offices, processes, and interfaces with 3rd party vendors or technology partners. In obtaining a solution, the Analyst is directly responsible for coordinating requirements definition, delivery, documentation, customer approval, associated training, problem solving, and any other steps as defined by leadership for this solution to be effective for the customer and to meet technical standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Enterprise Systems Support

  • Provides high-quality functional and technical support for areas, processes, and technologies supported by the Enterprise Systems teams
  • Serves as the primary day-to-day contact for offices, processes, third-party vendors, technology partners and internal stakeholders, as assigned
  • Works with customers to meet their data reporting needs, utilizing tools like Argos, PowerBI, etc.
  • Performs problem analysis, outlines resolution options, and takes appropriate actions to resolve problems
  • Documents business practices and contributes to knowledge sharing and coverage efforts
  • Documents all tools and technologies used to implement the solution
  • Assists with providing documentation and instructions/training to customers


Solution Development and Delivery

  • Collaborates with customers, technical staff/programmers, system administrators, and appropriate management to develop estimates, obtain buy-in to the solution design, and assist with overall implementation solution plans
  • Directly performs documentation and testing of solution components and any other steps as defined or delegated by management for this solution
  • Assists with generating convincing and substantiated business, technology, and architecture recommendations
  • Prepares and delivers functional and technical proposals/presentations as needed


Business Processes and Technologie

  • Understands University business processes and provides recommendations, particularly in the assigned functional offices and processes, with respect to enterprise systems (ie: Argos, ERPs (Banner, Oracle, DASH), campus portal, DegreeWorks, NextGen Dynamic Forms, Microsoft 365, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains expertise in assigned technologies

  • Basic knowledge of SQL or one programming language preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of policies and procedures of university offices
  • Aptitude for technical support and solution development with Banner and related ERP systems

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: ERP (Student, Financial, or HR) and SQL experience; enterprise reporting, particularly with Argos or a visual analytics tool; and experience in higher education is preferred.
