This position conducts and manages outcomes of various studies that include analyzing, reviewing, forecasting, trending, and presenting information for operational and business planning. They support short and long term operational and strategic business activities. They also develop and implement strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes. This position is on a team with clinical auditors who perform post-pay compliance reviews of long-term care providers for the Massachusetts Medicaid program (MassHealth)

Day to Day Responsibilities: (include % of time after each main duty; total should = 100%)

Approximately 5-10% each - flexes as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with business and support leads, and subject matter experts (SMEs), to map and document current or anticipated processes, project plans, and/or issue logs
  • Responsible for documentation management of assigned processes, which may include medical records, billing records, healthcare claim data, operations documentation, and/or business unit policies and procedures
  • Analyzes and interprets data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for the business and clients
  • Performs data validation and quality review
  • Problem solves, both in the context of balancing multiple priorities to ensure deadlines are met, and in researching conflicting and/or inaccurate data to propose solutions
  • Communicates analysis including trends and opportunities to clients / business in writing and verbally
  • Understands and anticipates customer needs and works proactively to meet them
  • Creates, produces, and manages daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Performs routine or structured work, in collaboration with Operations Manager(s)
  • Assists in implementation initiatives to ensure project deliverables and milestones are met
  • Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
  • Exercises problem solving skills to support deliverable timelines

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis of root cause analysis and reporting
  • 2+ years of documenting business process or job aid development
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 + years of business experience
  • Experience gathering requirements from the client/business and documenting
  • Familiarity with Medical Billing and Coding terminology
  • Experience with health plans, healthcare claims, or clinical operations experience
  • Intermediate + level Excel skills
