The Role

We're looking for Business Analyst, who can deliver within Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Consultant, you will analyze our insurance clients' business and technology challenges and build creative solutions to drive transformation. You will be responsible for participating in the requirements analysis process, data mapping and developing strong working relationships with clients and team members, building industry and domain expertise. Specifically, as a Business Analyst, you have the opportunity to deliver immediate value to clients by working with a project-based team of consultants.

REPOSNIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to schedule and facilitate business requirements gathering sessions with business groups on large, complex and/or strategic epics - conducting stakeholder interviews, requirements workshops, backlog refinement sessions, etc., in order to document requirements, validate existing requirements and create new user stories. This also includes statutory requirements.
  • Engage and work closely with business stakeholders to identify, define, and prioritize analytics & reporting initiatives and drive activities based on changing business or market demands.
  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders, data scientists, advanced and operational insights analysts, and Information Technology colleagues to plan and effectively execute initiatives
  • Effectively manage and communicate initiative scope, risks and issues, stakeholder expectations, and business value realization for assigned initiatives.
  • Support strategy and approach for post-implementation monitoring and communicates the ongoing business benefit impact as well as model performance tracking for assigned projects.
  • Effectively communicate and present the results of predictive and prescriptive analytical solutions to model acceptors, key stakeholders, and business leaders through presentations and executive summaries.
  • Conduct requirements walkthrough with development and testing teams. Ensure clarification and understanding on all requirements and obtain sign-off. Review coverage of test conditions and prioritize test scenarios for QA team.
  • Demonstrate strong functional familiarity knowledge of system domains and Insurance Solutions to marry the available technical architecture to meet both the business stakeholder requirements and business system requirements, to then partner with the agile team to identify and implement solutions. Facilitate demos of potential solutions to obtain stakeholder agreement and support.
  • Support developers and testers through the prioritization of user stories. Mentors more junior business analysts and associate business analysts.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in Agile or equivalent iterative methodology and toolset.
  • Understanding of integrations and data standards that develop quality documentation for data mapping & process flows.
  • Broad understanding of P&C Insurance and at least one business segment (e.g., Standard Commercial, Personal Lines, Excess and Surplus)
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project prioritization skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills with audiences spanning from peers to executives.
  • Formal business analysis skills on project work are preferred.
  • Excellent written communication skills; ability to clearly express thoughts and ideas through documentation.
  • Deep Understanding of at least one functional area (e.g., Underwriting, Claims, Risk Management, Finance, Marketing)
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyze problems, probe facts, analyze issues and present alternative solutions.
  • Ability to effectively manage a range of tasks and projects in an environment with changing priorities
  • Experience with Excel, and PowerPoint.
