Role:

As a North American Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of Molex in the North American market. Working closely with Sales and Product Management, you will be required to develop and execute strategic business plans to expand our market presence and increase sales of Molex solutions within Industrial Accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sales Europe, responsible for Industrial Accounts, in the selling and promotion of Molex solutions (both core and new products) in target market segments, participating in multi-location account development activities and meetings when required. Travel around North A merica is mandatory when developing new and strategic business and/or supporting Sales AME in opportunity execution.

• Become a subject matter expert for the Industrial Solutions Business Unit (ISBU) and provide consultative selling by demonstrating the value and benefits of our solutions, tailored to a customer's requirements. Preparing and presenting proposals and proof-of-concepts, both in person and through digital interactions.

• Develop an understanding of target customer and prospect profiles, applications, needs, problems, and their expectations, whilst also being aware of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) and the current state of the business in the assigned region.

• Track trends and dependencies in the industry/market segments that impact primary sources of sales/revenues in the assigned region. Identify and monitor competitor presence, and their developments/position, in the assigned region and target accounts.

• Explore eligible business expansion (e.g. identify complementary third-party products/solutions or new and unexplored market opportunities), which is additive to the existing business (i.e. contribution margin in key accounts) or would contribute to overall growth projections for the assigned region.

Expectations:

• Use Economic Thinking and Principle Based Management™ when developing new business for the DSS Division/Industrial Solutions Business Unit, leveraging your comparative advantage in team collaboration and opportunity execution.

• Align Product Segment Management with customer expectations, enabling ISBU to strategically develop and publish a Product Roadmap, which meets customer expectations and user requirements.

• Align customers with the full capabilities of Molex, optimizing our strengths and expertise of all Business Unit's, relevant to Industrial Accounts, whilst also positioning Molex as a preferred supplier.

• Market intelligence gathering to guide strategic decision making by the management team.

• Knowledge share within Business Units to contribute to Molex's competitive advantage.

Professional criteria, experience, and skill sets:

Mandatory (the qualifications you will bring):

• Bachelor's degree in Electro-Mechanical engineering or similar

• Business Development Manager (BDM) experience with a proven track record

• Industrial market knowledge (technology and industry trends)

• Experience in dealing directly with Distribution Channel Partners

Preferably (what could put you ahead):

• Material Handling Systems Market Segment knowledge/background

• Automotive/Robotic Market Segment knowledge/background

• Machine/Line Builder and System Integrator knowledge/background

• Project Book/Spec. List creation and management

• A good understanding of Industrial Automation architecture solutions (I/O, Power Distribution etc)

• A good understanding of Industrial Communication Devices (typically for Industrial Ethernet)

• A basic understanding of I/O and Power Connectivity Solutions ranging from PCB to Heavy Duty Cable Assemblies.

Additional areas of qualifications and/or knowledge that could be beneficial to the role:

• Functional Safety knowledge to Safety Integration Level 3 (SIL3) to IEC 62061 sector-specific standards under IEC 61508 or CAT4/Performance Level e (PLe) to ISO 13849-1

• FS Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate (Functional Safety of Machinery)

• IIoT/Industry 4.0 knowledge and expertise

• Software expertise, specifically around Industrial Ethernet Software Development Kits (SDK's)

• PLC or IPC programming expertise to IEC 61131-3
