The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The Harris Center") is on the hunt for a dedicated Business Development & Strategic Initiatives Manager. The Business Development & Strategic Initiatives Manager manages the daily execution of the business development strategy, plans, and processes of the Agency. This position is a key liaison position for intra agency coordination and external partnership development and collaboration. Internally, they will collaborate with clinical staff to ensure alignment between business development efforts and clinical operations. Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement, as well as compiling and analyzing competitive data within assigned geographical regions. Streamline and optimize current workflows to increase productivity, and/or revenue. Externally, they will prepare and deliver presentations to potential referral source and payers to promote the center's services and create lasting relationships.

Your Role in Action:
  • Provides leadership and direction to all aspects of Business Development and assists with potential marketing initiatives.
  • Develops both short- and long-term plans to accomplish organizational objectives/goals. Establishes targets and metrics to measure the achievement objectives/goals.
  • Collects data and performs analysis of business development and strategic initiatives to quantify results.
  • Streamline and optimize current workflows to increase productivity and/or revenue, and to accomplish financial objectives. Makes suggestions for improvement to current workflows as needed.
  • Identifies, analyzes and monitors potential issues that affect organizational growth and productivity.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to achieve strategic initiatives that drive new business and/or resolve barriers for admissions and/or business opportunities.
  • Coaches and mentors direct reports and works collaboratively across the organization to help bring projects to completion.
  • Builds relationships with external stakeholders to increase awareness of services and promote business opportunities. Maintains database of key referral sources.
  • Provides regular reporting and transparency to the Vice President and senior leadership regarding strategy, business development, and regarding the progress of ongoing efforts.
  • Works closely with senior leaders across the agency to ensure organizational readiness to manage and/or integrate opportunities.
  • Serve as a grant development liaison to provide high level support in the grant writing process.
  • Liaison between Accounting, Human Resources, Quality, and Information Technology departments post grant award.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience:
  • 5 years related experience, and/or fellowship experience in business setting required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to travel for due diligence and management meetings.
  • Highly analytical, detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting including but not limited to financial statements, expenses vs. capitalization, return on investment, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Positive attitude, team player with strong interpersonal skills and flexible approach
  • Strong desire to learn and continuously improve.
  • Ability to thrive and grow quickly in a fast-growing organization.
  • Proven organizational and communication skills with strong follow-through and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work successfully in an ambiguous environment.
