Business Intelligence Developer Job in Rochester, NY:

Hybrid position requiring 3 days a week onsite in Rochester, NY

Hourly Pay Rate Range: $35.00- $40.00 an hour

The Business Intelligence Developer responsibilities will include creating and managing BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge. The BI Developer should be analytical, an excellent communicator, have business acumen and a problem-solving aptitude.

The primary technologies that a BI Developer will operate with include Azure Analysis Services, SQL Server, and Power BI. The BI Developer will work in a team with other BI, ETL, and Report Developers.

Responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Developer Job in Rochester, NY:

• Interpret business requirements into technical code

• Design, develop and deploy BI solutions and reporting tools

• Develop BI semantic models such as Tabular Models and Multidimensional Cubes using Azure Analysis Services.

• Develop structured and highly formatted reports using Power BI Desktop and Report Builder for paginated reports

• Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain BI solutions built on Microsoft technologies.

• Develop and update technical documentation

• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems

• Review developer code for adherence to best practices

• Maintain and support data analytics platforms

Required Skills and Experience of the Business Intelligence Developer Job in Rochester, NY:

• Proficiency with Analysis Services Tabular Models design and development

• Proficiency with DAX programming language for the creation of measures, calculated columns, and tables in tabular models.

• Basic level experience of SQL Server and T-SQL querying

• Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau

• Exceptional problem-solving skills

• Self-motivated and directed, with good attention to detail

• Strong technical documentation skills

• Experience with MDX for Multidimensional Cubes development

• Proficiency with SSRS or Power BI Paginated Report development

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

• Excellent business acumen

Required Education and Qualifications of the Business Intelligence Developer Job in Rochester, NY:

• BE or BS degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field preferred. OR 3-5 additional years of related and transferable experience in lieu of a degree

• 3-5 years of experience as a BI Developer or similar position with strong understanding of the BI pipeline and how to solve complex business problems
