What You'll Do

As Chief of Staff for the VP/CTO of Cisco's Security Business Group, you will manage programs across the Security CTO organization. In this role, you'll drive the vision-to-execution lifecycle for the Security Business Unit through strategic planning and program management. A critical aspect of your role will be to enable the execution of the Security CTO leadership team's strategy, ensuring a streamlined and effective operational environment. You will play a pivotal role in promoting operational excellence through efficient processes, methodologies, tools, and systems that support the organization's goals.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and methodologies to foster operational excellence; ensure adherence to these practices by leaders across the organization.
  • Collaborate with diverse team members to set and achieve both short-term and long-term goals, overseeing quarterly and annual strategic planning initiatives.
  • Prepare and present results for Quarterly Business Outlooks (QBOs), Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and ongoing business reporting.
  • Identify and work closely with key partners, ensuring alignment and transparency, while fostering open communication across all levels of the organization. You will also lead bi-weekly Executive Leadership meetings and occasionally organization-wide All Hands meetings.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on processes, procedures, and systems, providing training and support to empower the team.
  • Lead and support cross-functional initiatives, facilitating collaboration between internal and external partners, and serve as a trusted advisor in various capacities.
  • Prepare executive-level and customer-facing presentations with thoughtful, well-presented content.
Who You Are

You are a highly skilled program manager who excels in using a variety of tools and methodologies to efficiently plan, implement, and oversee diverse projects and initiatives. Your strategic mind allows you to balance both long-term planning and swift tactical execution, creating consistent, reliable processes that support teams in working cohesively. You are data-driven and adept at using insights to inform decision-making, and you are comfortable communicating clearly and effectively with leaders, peers, and external partners.

You thrive in diverse environments, collaborating with subject matter experts across different domains such as Customer Support, Technical Writing, and Product Development. You take charge of critical projects and manage through change with ease, maintaining momentum even during times of evolution and transformation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in an operations role with a demonstrated ability to drive operational excellence and deliver measurable results.
  • 8+ years of experience managing budgets within a technical environment
  • Experience leading and supporting cross-functional teams
  • Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with partners at all levels.
  • Consistent track record of thriving in a highly matrixed global organization.
  • Strong ability to develop and track complex projects with multiple partners.
  • Experience leading cross-functional operational initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
