Your role

Key competencies and responsibilities:

• champion risk management in partnership with the Business Areas and in particular Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Team
• lead risk management interaction with key business partners (Credit, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Risk, etc.) and internal auditors/external examiners
• monitor and report on the overall compliance and operational risk portfolio related to the CRA Program
• actively support risk-related committees (ie, Operating Effectiveness, Operating Risk, Enterprise Risk)
• prepare 1 LOD monthly report on the status of the CRA risk framework
• design 1st LoD testing plan to evidence compliance with regulations and evidence that controls are working as intended
• partner with 1 LOD quality assurance and quality control team on CRA testing
• manage and complete CRA related Business Risk and Control Assessments and partnering with cross function teams (product, 2nd lod, finance, ops, etc.) to incorporate comprehensive analysis of the assessment(s)
• track, report and coordinate closure of identified issues
• assist and lead issue resolution/remediation across functions (as pertain to this product area)
• enhance the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Business Risk Framework for all types of Risk

Your team

You'll be working as part of the Business Risk Management Team in the home office, reporting to the Head of 1st LOD Risk and Compliance. The Business Risk Management Team is responsible for managing all business risk (first line of defense) in partnership with multiple Control areas (second line of defense).

Your expertise

You have:
• at least 5-10 years of experience within banking business risk management
• background in Community Renvestment Act program knowledge is not required but would be a huge advantage
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• strong negotiation and influence skills
• proven track record of delivering results and meeting targets
• track record of successfully supporting business users with reporting & analytics, decision support, and presentation support
• the ability to interact with all levels of management, multi-task and work well under pressure
• a clean regulatory track record
• understanding of regulatory environment

You are:
• analytical, consultative and investigative skills and an independent, driven approach
• organized, analytical and able to readily interpret data, including legal and compliance-related materials
• self-confident, have strong judgment and evidence of sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
• comfortable collaborating with diverse constituencies
• proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
