Business Analyst Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Collaborates with project sponsors to determine project scope and vision.

Elicits, analyzes, specifies, and validates the business needs of stakeholders.

Expertise in gathering and documenting business and functional requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.

Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.

Creates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.

Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

Work closely with development team explaining business requirements and help creating high level design document.

Expertise in creating integration test cases and perform user acceptance testing.

Provide functionality demo to business, end users and training teams.

Provide system support (as required) by doing system troubleshooting and analysis.

Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues

Qualification/Requirements

A bachelor's degree in business or related field or an MBA.

A minimum of 4 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.

Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.

Excellent documentation skills.

Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.

Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Good to have: SQL skills

Contract and Compensation Details

Long term Contract position opportunity.

Initial Contract for 3 months and extended based on performance review.

Industry standard compensation based on Greater St Louis job market.
