Food Runner / Busperson

This position at Opaline Bar & Brasserie is for a passionate food service individual who will provide an exceptional experience to our guests and assist in all aspects of breakfast, lunch and dinner service.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:   
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Assist servers with food delivery, clearing tables, and setting up tables
  • Assisting guests with queries
  • Attend to buffet items
  • Replenish items and guest amenities
  • Restock and maintain inventory levels of all products
  • Ensure overall cleanliness of the restaurant at all times
  • Early morning shifts include weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Follow restaurant policies, procedures and service standards
  • Have full knowledge of beverage lists, promotions, menu items, contents, and preparation methods
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
  • May have to assist In-Room Dining team
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:
  • Previous experience in food service industry an asset
  • Previous experience as busser/server's assistant in luxury setting an asset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Food handler certification an asset
  • Certification in CPR an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment, and without supervision
  • Ability to multi task and work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Abilities:
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas
  • Reach 1-2 feet
  • Remain in stationary position for 2 hours throughout work shift
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Exert physical effort in carrying items (up to 40 pounds)
  • Frequent lifting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
