    ER Snell is looking to hire a CAD technician due to growth in the department. Ideal candidate will have experience using technology to help generate 3d models for complex construction projects. Strong computer skills are required and knowledge of design/CAD software is strongly preferred. Using the plan drawings, the CAD designer must build a computer-generated 3D model of the project for use in heavy construction equipment, generate CAD drawings for submittal, communicate with field personnel and solve problems with practical solutions.
    • Construct 3D models of major roadway construction projects to be used as 3-D machine control in heavy construction equipment.
    • Provide field personnel with CAD work for survey and stakeout.
    • Generate CAD drawings to submit for proposed or as-built construction features.
    • Calculate quantities for project materials.
    • Knowledge of industry, engineering, math, and construction methods.
    • Ability to analyze design data to recognize inconsistencies and come up with practical solutions.
    • Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards.
  • High School, associate's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends when required.

Preferred but not required:
  • Familiarity with Trimble software solutions (Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access ect.)
  • Degree in CAD Drafting or Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Tech ect.
  • Familiarity with GDOT Standards and Specifications.
