Responsibilities

The Horsham Clinic is seeking a dynamic and talented Addictions Counselor.

The Horsham Clinic is a 206-bed, private behavioral healthcare facility located on a beautiful 55-acre suburban campus in Montgomery County. We are minutes from Philadelphia and serve patients and families from Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Horsham Clinic provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. In addition to our main campus in Ambler, we have two satellite partial hospitalization programs in Chester County and Delaware County. Our program diversity reflects the needs of the community and the expertise of our board-certified Medical Directors that offer a combined 40-year of tenured experience at Horsham Clinic.

The Addictions Counselor is an active member of the treatment team. The Addictions Counselor is responsible to assess the patients' drug and alcohol usage history and develop individualized interventions to assist patients in meeting their treatment goals. The Addiction Therapist provides a variety of educational and therapeutic interventions including but not limited to patient education, individual group sessions consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Horsham Clinic.

The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, andability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment tounits providing care to varied populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and dually diagnosedpatients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.

Experience:
  • Two years' experience working with addictions population
  • CAC, CAADC or CCDP certification required
  • Prior work in an inpatient psychiatric setting
  • Displays a proficiency in management and data entry
  • Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles
  • Knowledgeable about account payable, accounts receivable, and the process of maintain general ledgers
  • Proficiency with common computer based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases
  • Displays a respect for confidentiality

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bacjelors degree in Addictions, Counseling, Human Services or related field is required. Masters Degree strongly preferred.
  • CAC, CAADC or CCDP certification required
  • Two years' experience working with addictions population

Physical Requirements:

Physical agility to manage patients. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment drug screen.

Environmental Conditions:

Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior.

Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids, and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.

Job Classification:

Exempt; hours vary and may include day, evening, night and weekend shifts.
