Strategic Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a CAD/GIS Operator for a contract opportunity with one of our largest clients located in Cincinnati, OH!

Title: CAD/GIS Operator

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid/onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months

Role Type: W2 contract engagement

Primary Location : Cincinnati, OH. Travel could be required throughout our service territory in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Travel could also be required outside the service territory.

Seeking a CAD/GIS Operator or Permit Specialist in support of ongoing and emerging work across the Enterprise network. The work involves new system deployments and system upgrades with a focus on Fiber Engineering and support.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The successful candidate will help with engineering drawings, permits, and fiber documentation. Help develop Fiber solutions to address business needs including the planning, designing, implementing, testing and documentation of the communication systems & network components.

• Develops plans and prepares engineering job packages consisting of detailed parts/equipment lists, logical installation instructions and appropriate documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, etc.) to support an efficient installation and maintenance process.
• Works effectively with other team members to successfully implement transport projects.
• Monitors installation work to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, standards and procedures.
• Maintains familiarity with current telecommunications technology and available facilities.
• Resolves complex technical problems and provides technical assistance to installation and maintenance personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• Self-directed, motivated, and organized
• Experience with CAD or GIS Systems
• Experience with Utility Protection Services such as 811
• Experience with pole loading analysis, SAG and tension charts (lower priority)
• Understanding of joint use policies and systems, such as SPANS (important)
• Understanding of communication technology and fundamentals
• Strong interpersonal skills to support successful performance in a team environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with the Corporate Documentation System (Fusion)
• Experience with fiber documentation systems
• Experience with DOT, railroad and municipality permitting processes
• Four years of experience designing fiber optic network infrastructure, including OPGW, ADSS (communications space and power space) and underground fiber installations
• Experience with fiber installation techniques such as boring, trenching and aerial cable installation
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
