The Cancer & Blood Diseases Institute at Cincinnati Children's Hospital is seeking an innovative and dynamic Director for its Cancer Translational Immunotherapy Center. The objective for the position is to lead - and expand through recruitment - a team of investigators focused on developing engineered cellular and vaccine immunotherapies for pediatric and young adult cancers. The research program integrates into a large and well-established program for clinical stem cell transplant and cellular therapies, with clinical CART experience, an internationally-noted program for viral-specific T-cell therapies, transplants.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • MD/ DO or equivalent, and/or Ph.D. with focused experience in engineered cellular or vaccine immunotherapy development with strong publication and funding accomplishments
  • Research focus on pediatric and/or young adult malignancies
  • Expertise in the molecular engineering of cellular therapies or novel vaccines for cancer, with evidence of ability to develop new technologies and applications
  • Professor appointment or eligibility required with a minimum of five years of service at the Associate Professor or equivalent rank


Leadership qualities:

  • Commitment to team science and collaborative bench to bedside culture
  • Interest and ability to assemble and recruit additional research team members spanning cellular & antibody therapies, tumor vaccines, immune microenvironment, radiation biology
  • Evidence of strong multidisciplinary team leadership and communication skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with other laboratory research and clinical leaders and their teams.
  • Experience with strategic planning and execution
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research, education, and clinical care delivery
