The California Secretary of State's Elections Division is seeking to fill a permanent, fulltime Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) positions in the Candidate Filing and Election Night Reporting program. The hiring manager is willing to consider Staff Services Analyst for recruitment purposes. A Training and Development Assignment will be considered. Successful T&D candidates may be appointed to the classification at the end of the assignment.
The incumbent will work as part of a team of professionals performing tasks directly related to Candidate Filing and Election Night Reporting. The incumbent will be responsible completing the semi-official (election night) and official canvasses; testing the election night database; participating in election night preparations and activities; developing, compiling, and analyzing results of election-related surveys; preparing legislative bill analysis impacting elections in California, communicating with county election officials, working on special elections, processing candidate filing forms, participating in outreach events, drafting correspondence to stakeholders as well as working on special projects as required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Describe in detail your experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, statutes, policies, and procedures. Describe in detail your experience reviewing written materials for completeness, consistency, and identifying deficiencies. Describe your experience making a presentation to management. How would you prepare for a presentation? How would you respond if management disagreed with your recommendation? Describe what steps you would take to research and analyze a complex work-related issue.
