Job Description

Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse in Cardiac Rehab.

JOB SUMMARY :

Provides direct patient care to persons receiving Cardiac Rehabilitation

Services including Phase I-III, Stress testing, Holter Monitoring and

interacting with other corporate departments to achieve these goals

(ex. Radiology for stress testing). Must be able to work independently

and have managerial skills. May be required to participate in community

projects such as speaking to groups on heart disease and departmental

offerings, taking blood pressures, providing cholesterol testing, etc.

Assists department manager with QI data and reporting, marketing,

policy/ procedure development/revision, and other duties as specified.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  1. Provides direct nursing care to patients receiving Cardio-


Rehabilitation or others as required.

  1. Maintains neat and timely records which reflect the use of


the nursing process.

  1. Assists with Quality Improvement program, community projects,


CPR programs, or additional educational projects as directed

by department manager.

  1. Attends committee meetings as assigned by departmental manager.


  1. Assists with community wellness programs especially those related


to prevention of heart disease as directed by department manager.

  1. Takes responsibility for keeping clinical knowledge of Cardio


Pulmonary services (including Cardiac Rehab, Stress testing and

Holter monitoring) updated. Keeps CPR knowledge current in BLS

and ACLS protocols.

  1. Conducts education programs for Cardiac Rehabilitation patients,


ACLS and BCLS programs for the corporation and other programs as

directed by department manager.

  1. Assists with policy/procedure initiation and review, marketing


and case findings as directed by department manager.

  1. Demonstrates excellence in customer service/relations skills.


  1. Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.


  1. Participates in quality improvement activities.


  1. Other duties that may be assigned.


  1. Complies with Corporate Policies, Departmental Policies and


Procedures and Employee Handbook.

  1. Must be able to function independently in the Cardiac


Rehabilitation Unit.

  1. Must have managerial skills.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING :

Currently licensed as RN in the State of West Virginia. BSN preferred.

Certification in Cardiac Rehabilitation nursing or exercise physiology

preferred. ACLS required. BCLS and ACLS Instructor status required.

WORK EXPERIENCE :

Minimum of two years' experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation, IC/CCU, ECC,

or other critical care nursing field. Must have working knowledge of

and be able to interpret cardiac monitors.
