Summary:
Employs radiologic sciences technology to perform a variety of patient care, technical, and diagnostic tasks targeted to the care of patients with vascular disease. Major tasks include performing diagnostic evaluations of patients using vascular ultrasound equipment, conduct physiological assessment and measurements including vital signs! Utilizes knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately identify and assess vascular structures as well as documenting findings and communicating results to the healthcare team
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures
2. Conduct patient clinical assessment and perform the diagnostic medical sonography examination ordered by the supervising physician in accordance with facility protocols
3. Applies independent judgment during the sonography examination to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images
4. As necessary, acquire additional ultrasound imaging to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician
5. Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare preliminary reports for providers
6. Ensure reports are complete and accurate with all billing requirements.
7. Adhere to all requirements for IAC accreditation including quality assurance reviews
8. Assist with the daily operation of a high paced vascular surgery practice
9. Assist in prioritizing assigned work based on workflow fluctuations

Required Skills & Experience
Education Requirements:
Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR
Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually. VT or ARDMS preferred.
Professional Experience Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements: Prefer candidate with strong vascular experience or interested in Vascular Imaging. Excellent customer service skills, ability to work and prosper in a team environment, proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge, understanding of physiology and how it relates to vascular conditions.
