The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) provides technical and analytical support during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac and electrophysiology (EP) procedures for adult and pediatric patients. Performs diagnostic examinations and therapeutic interventions of the heart and/or blood vessels at the request or direction of a physician.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
  • Acts as a resource for Monitoring/Mapping systems and assists in staff training/skills validation
  • Directly assists the physician(s) during cardiovascular and electrophysiologic procedures.
  • Performs appropriate clinical procedures and obtains a record of anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Performs required quality control procedures on equipment and initiates repair as necessary to maintain safe usage.
  • Performs scrub duties during EP device implants
  • Provides appropriate care based on the needs of the specific individual, including age.
  • Reviews and/or records pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data
  • Sets up hemodynamic/EP monitoring systems and EP Mappings Systems including Carto, Ensite, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Requirements met by License/Certification Requirement.

License/Certification: (BLS) Basic Life Support required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within six (6) months of hire.

One of the following certifications is required:

RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certification

OR

RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Certification

OR

IBHRE - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners Certification, this certification was previously known as HRS - Heart Rhythm Society Certification from the NASPE - North American Society for Pacing and Electrophysiology

OR

CV Technician (CVT) certification required (or obtained within 6 months of hire).

  • Knowledge of cardiovascular principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment involved in the performance of all vascular sonography procedures
  • Knowledge of disease processes and surgical interventions of the vascular system
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $131,996.80 to $149,708.00
