Job Summary:
- Coordinates and delivers career development advising, programming, and/or resource materials to business students and alumni.
- Educates students, alumni, and other stakeholders about career development and opportunities and maintains relationships to aid in effective career planning.
- Provides 1:1 student career coaching through scheduled appointments and drop-in office hours.
- Serves as an assigned advisor for finance and real estate majors, while maintaining an understanding of career pathways across business majors. Collaborates with Employer Engagement Team and Pathway Consultants to design and develop industry-focused resources and programs.
- Support students from underrepresented identities and backgrounds throughout the career development process (exploration, preparation, recruiting success) through dedicated advising and programming.
- Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive environment for both students and fellow staff.
- Contribute to 1-3 strategic projects or initiatives supporting the goals of the Career Engagement Team, Undergraduate Program, or campus per year.

  • 70% Educates or advises students and recent alumni individually or in groups through various mediums about career exploration, self-assessment, skills, materials development, and career decisions
  • 10% Develops and delivers career development programming and resource materials across various mediums to provide education to students
  • 5% Responds to questions and provides information regarding student services, policies, procedures, and employment preparation
  • 10% May identify and maintain a professional network of employers or other stakeholders to facilitate career exploration and employment opportunities for students
  • 5% Participates in the campus-wide career services community, providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college/unit

Qualifications:
Required:
- 1- 2 years experience in higher education setting or business. Experience can include work in an advising/mentor capacity, delivering programming, or business industry experience.

Preferred:
- Knowledge of or experience with business, specifically finance or real estate.
- Experience with advising students or providing mentorship.
- Experience designing and delivering career development programming, workshops, or presentations of a similar nature.
- Organizational perspectives of inclusion work, and an understanding of the complexities of inter/intra cultural interaction.
- A strong desire to build relationships with students, colleagues and campus partners from other schools/colleges.
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, organizational, and self-management skills while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, flexibility and ability to provide excellent customer service to clients.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
