Job Duties

Central State Hospital is currently recruiting for a Carpenter/Painter to analyze defects and malfunctions to determine the scope of the problems. Perform as a Journeyman Carpenter and Painter with responsibility for a complete project from initial layout to final assembly. Duties will also include performing as a zone mechanic and completing small repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to read, understand, and follow written job assignment. Must have a valid Virginia driving license.
Must Possess full range of skills in repair and construction in the area of carpentry and painting. Understand blueprints and shop drawings. Competent in the repair and installation of standard and correctional locks used at CSH and HWDMC. Ability to perform small repairs in the areas of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and painting. Requires basic computer knowledge and skills. As a Trades Technician III you are on a rotating On Call/Call Back schedule. As a mission critical employee, you are required to report for duty for all emergency call ins.
