About this role

The CC&V Mine Internship Program provides students with a hands-on, immersive experience in the mining industry. Interns will have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world environment while working closely with professionals in their field of study. This program is designed to offer practical exposure to mine operations, engineering, geology, environmental management, safety, and other key areas within the mining sector. Interns will gain valuable experience, enhance their technical skills, and develop a deep understanding of the mining industry.

Your role will consist of

Here is a snapshot of what your day-to-day will look like
  • Assist with daily operations and tasks within your assigned department (e.g., engineering, geology, environmental, or health & safety).
  • Participate in on-site inspections, surveys, and evaluations of mine conditions and operations.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data relevant to mining processes or environmental impacts.
  • Support project planning and development, including the use of software tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, or mining-specific applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on site to address challenges and implement solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies at all times.
  • Present findings and project progress to the team and management at the end of the internship.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to further develop technical and soft skills.


Your Training, Skills & Experience checklist

Here is what we need to see from you
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mining Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in the mining industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, GIS) is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor, industrial environment and adapt to varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced work environment.


Working Conditions & Location

  • The CC&V mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400- 10,600 above sea level
  • Work schedule is onsite 4x10's

The salary range offered for this role is USD $23.80-36.77. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
